Instrument Fitters and technicians perform key installation and maintenance functions across several industries and are trained in piping, tubing, fasteners, and working with metal production. Instrumentation technicians and fitters have to be familiar with electrical systems, craft-specific drawings and must be experts in the hand and power tools specific to their trade.

Education Options:

Technical School, Community College, Registered Apprenticeship Program, and Industry Training Program

Qualifications:

Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, physical fitness, and a good sense of balance. Instrumentation Technicians also need to have the ability to solve complex problems using reasoning and advanced math.
